Mary Peterson – Mary has been performing throughout Northern California since 1990. She was last seen as Sister Mary Patrick in Sister Act at SCT. She was recently seen at Showbiz Theatre Company in Steel Magnolias as Truvy Jones. Other theatre credits include performances with The Metropolitan Players, Columbia Repertory Theatre and recently with Lodi Musical Theatre. She earned a SARTA award for her role as M’lynn in Steel Magnolias with the Blue Mountain Players in West Point, CA and she has also directed.
John Thiel – A drama teacher at Stockton Collegiate International Schools, John’s first SCT show was The Sound of Music in 2001. Other shows include A Christmas Carol, Damn Yankees, Sweeney Todd, 1776 and, most recently, in Mary Poppins as Bert. He also performed in shows while at Bucknell University and was seen in The Rocky Horror Show at Showbiz Theatre Company. He earned an Elly Award for choreography at St. Mary’s High School.
Melissa Esau – Melissa has been involved with SCT since Willow and Monroe. Some of her favorite roles/shows include Vanya And Sonia And Masha And Spike, Legally Blonde, White Christmas, South Pacific…just to name a few. She has received many awards, including the “Bravo Award” for her service to the theatre. She would like to dedicate her performance to Al Muller and Jim Coleman.
Nick Giovannoni – Nick was recently seen in Unnecessary Farce with Stockton Civic Theatre in the role of Todd. This past December Nick played Ebenezer Scrooge in San Joaquin Delta Drama’s production of A Christmas Carol. Previous credits include his Elly Award-winning role as Ladahlord in Ronald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach, The Rocky Horror Show and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) at Showbiz Theatre Company. Nick will next appear in San Joaquin Delta College’s Drama Production of Avenue Q in May 2017.
Dennis Beasley (Director/Actor) – Dennis is excited to work with this talented group on this project. Before becoming the Artistic Director at SCT, he was a freelance director, actor and educator who has worked in various roles at theatre all over the country over the past two decades. Recently directing credits include Bells are Ringing (Davis Shakespeare Ensemble), Six Degrees of Separation (The Western Stage), Forever Plaid (Oregon Music Theatre Festival), Evita (Gavilan College Theatre) and Les Miserables (San Benito Stage Company). Favorite past roles include The Baker (Into The Woods), Seymour (Little Shop of Horrors) and Marryin’ Sam (Li’l Abner). Dennis holds an MFA in Directing from UC Irvine and a BA in Theatre from UCLA.
Joshua Landin (Musical Director) – Joshua first appeared on the SCT stage in Sweeney Todd, followed by White Christmas, Anything Goes, Fiddler on the Roof, where he also served as musical director, in 1776 and, most recently, in Mary Poppins as Robertson Ay. He has also been musical director/conductor for Chicago for which he earned a Willie Award and Young Frankenstein. He has been musical director the last four years at St. Mary’s High School and earned an Elly Award in 2014 for Best Musical Direction of Shrek: The Musical.
