SCT Jr. Youth Scholarships

Stockton Civic Theatre’s Youth Program, SCT Jr., aims to provide challenging, innovative, and high-quality arts education opportunities to its students. Annually we offer SCT Jr. Stage for young artists interested in acting, singing, and dancing. We also offer SCT Jr. Crew for young artists interested in stagecraft, design, and construction of sets, props, and costumes. Both culminate in the production of a full-scale musicals.

To make sure we continue to reach the youth of Stockton and its surrounding areas. We offer different types of scholarships to help the youth achieve their dreams with in the arts.

The three scholarships that are offered are the; SCT Jr. Summer Youth Program Scholarship, the Grotemeyer Scholarship, and the Grotemeyer & Elliott College Scholarship. Each of these scholarships offer an opportunity for the youth of Stockton to participate in our program, foster their skills and turn around to then impact our communities with their passion.

SCT JR Summer Youth Program Scholarship window is

February 22, 2022 to March 4, 2022


2022 SCT JR Summer Youth Program Scholarship

Stockton Civic Theatre (SCT) annually offers a Summer Youth Program, SCT JR Stage, for youth interested in acting, singing and dancing. SCT also offers a Summer Youth Program, SCT JR Crew, for youth interested in stagecraft, design, construction of sets, props, and costumes. Both culminate in the production of a full-scale musical.

Under the Program, ten (10) $200 scholarships will be awarded to students, who are in financial need and who are planning on enrolling in the 2022 SCT JR Summer Youth Program.

Program Guidelines & Priorities:

  • Applicants must be eligible to enroll in the 2022 SCT JR Summer Youth Program. Students must be between the ages of 8 years old as of Monday, June 27th, 2022 and no older than 17 years old as of Sunday, July 30th, 2022.
  • Scholarship funds will be automatically applied to the student’s 2022 Tuition, and not the student. The scholarship funds will be issued to the SCT Box Office in your student’s name, which will include this application and contact form.
  • Applications must be received by the SCT no later than Friday, March 4 2022. Late applications will not be accepted.

The applications will be reviewed and recipients selected by an SCT Education Committee. The scholarships will be awarded on Monday, March 14, 2022. An email will be sent to the email address in the application and scholarship winners will have 5 days to accept the scholarship.


2022 SCT JR Grotemeyer Scholarship

SCT Jr. Children’s Theatre Summer Program is happy to announce its 2022 Bill Grotemeyer Scholarship Program. Bill’s dream was to provide theatre opportunities to children who may not otherwise have the financial means to do so. The scholarship will be awarded to one (1) student who is new to the summer program in 2022. The scholarship is valued at $375.00 providing a FULL-RIDE for the 2022 SCT JR Summer Program. The scholarship also secures a guaranteed spot into the 2022 SCT JR Summer Program for the recipient.

Program Guidelines & Priorities:

  • Applicants must be eligible to enroll in the 2022 SCT JR Summer Youth Program. Students must be between the ages of 8 years old as of Monday, June 27th, 2022 and no older than 17 years old as of Sunday, July 30th, 2022.

The Grotemeyer & Elliott College Scholarship

—- Application window July 1st, 2022 – July 24th, 2022 —-

Bill Grotemeyer and Nick Elliott’s dream was to provide theatre opportunities to young people who may not otherwise have the financial means to do so. This college scholarship of $1000 will be awarded to one incoming first year college student who is planning on pursuing a degree in the arts.

  • All accredited colleges and universities are acceptable, including junior colleges and four-year institutions.
  • You must be starting your first year at a college or university to apply.
  • Applicants of all ages are invited to complete this application.
